What a downturn we are in here. After going 2-4 for the day we are only 20-27 for the week. But we are still over .500 for the season and have 15 games today. Here we go!

Kansas City at Cleveland:

Kris Bubic has been the best pitcher for the Royals this season. He has yet to allow an earned run in 12 innings, and has only given up seven hits. Cleveland will score against Bubic, but it won’t be enough as the Royals get the win. Pick: Kansas City

Loss

Pittsburgh at Cincinnati:

Brady Singer came to the Reds in an offseason trade, and it looks like a great decision. He also has yet to allow an earned run in 12 innings, just like Bubic above. Same story as above, where Pittsburgh will score but it won’t be enough. Pick: Cincinnati

Win

Atlanta at Tampa Bay:

Atlanta has been real bad this year. They did win yesterday, but that just brought their record to 3-9. Now they face Taj Bradley, who has looked good in one start and bad in the other. We are riding with Bradley and the Rays to keep Atlanta looking pedestrian at the plate, and getting the win. Pick: Tampa Bay

Win

San Francisco at New York Yankees:

Robbie Ray looks like the Tommy John surgery is well behind him, as he is off to a 2-0 record in 2025. One of his wins was against the Mariners, who aren’t exactly lighting the world on fire at the plate. New York will be the best offense he has faced by a long shot, but we think he is up to the task today. Giants get the win. Pick: San Francisco

Win

Toronto at Baltimore:

Baltimore has struggled to start the season, currently looking up at every team in the American League East. That includes first place Toronto, who is their because of great starting pitching. Next in line for the Blue Jays is Bowden Francis, who is probably the weak link in the rotation. Baltimore has to take advantage today, and we think they will in getting the win. Pick: Baltimore

Washington at Miami:

These are two below average National League East teams that are probably not making the playoffs. They are in a division with two good teams in the New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies, and one underachieving one in the Braves. In this matchup we like the Marlins pitcher a little better, so that is who we are going with. Pick: Miami

Loss

Boston at Chicago White Sox:

The White Sox are bad. They are the first team in baseball to lose ten games this season, and have already lost eight in a row. We are going to pick against them until they win. So we are going with the Red Sox. Pick: Boston

Loss

Los Angeles Angels at Houston:

Ronel Blanco was a revelation for the Astros last year, even throwing a no hitter. This year he has gotten lit up like the fourth of July. Now he faces an Angels team that had three hitters hit multiple home runs yesterday. That is not a good recipe for a win. Give us the Angels. Pick: Los Angeles Angels

Loss

Detroit at Minnesota:

We don’t really trust Reese Olson but we really don’t trust David Festa. This will be a high scoring game that will be won by the Tigers. Pick: Detroit

Win

Philadelphia at St. Louis:

Aaron Nola vs Andre Pallante? Big advantage Phillies. Philadelphia’s lineup vs St. Louis’ lineup? Big advantage Phillies. While we don’t think the Cardinals are a terrible team, the Phillies are a machine and will keep rolling today. We are very confident in that fact. Pick: Philadelphia (Lock)

Loss (Lock record 7-9)

Colorado at San Diego:

The Rockies are like the Braves so far this season, they won their last game to bring their record to 3-9. Now they face a Padres team that is in first place in the loaded National League West. In fact, the Rockies are the only team with a losing record in the division. Give us the Padres here. Pick: San Diego

Win

Milwaukee at Arizona:

As of this morning the Brewers starting pitcher is still undecided. That is never a good sign. Especially when facing a team that can hit the ball as well as the Diamondbacks can. Even though Eduardo Rodriguez has struggled this season, we are still going to go with the Diamondbacks to get the win. Pick: Arizona

Loss

Texas at Seattle:

Jacob DeGrom vs Bryce Miller? This is a great pitching matchup where the first team to score will probably win. Both Texas and Seattle have not hit the ball at all this season, and now you have them facing off in a pitchers ballpark with two good pitchers on the mound. We predict a 2-1 score, with Texas having the two. Pick: Texas

Loss

New York Mets at Athletics:

The Athletics have played six games in Sacramento and have only won one of them. Now they face a Mets team that has allowed two runs or fewer in five of the last six games. New York will continue to pitch well and the Mets will win the opening game of this series. Pick: New York Mets

Win

Chicago Cubs at Los Angeles Dodgers:

These two teams played twice in Japan and the Dodgers won both games. Now they are playing state side and the result will be more of the same. Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers

Win

Happy picking everyone!
