Detroit at Minnesota:

Detroit is leading the American League Central behind an awesome start from their pitching staff. Today they turn to Jackson Jobe, who has probably been the weakest link in the rotation. Chris Paddack goes for the Twins and he has been horrendous in his first two starts. We expect quite a few runs in this one, but the winner will be the Tigers. Pick: Detroit

Win

Philadelphia at St. Louis:

This game will probably be St. Louis’ best chance to get a win in this series. We know that Miles Mikolas has not thrown well this year, but neither has Christopher Sanchez for the Phillies. He has given up three home runs in eleven innings. We think he will give up a couple more today and the Red Birds will get the win. Pick: St. Louis

Loss

San Francisco at New York Yankees:

The Yankees are going to come out firing in this one and will hit multiple home runs against Jack Flaherty. New York is going to win this one comfortably. Pick: New York Yankees

Win

Toronto at Baltimore:

Which Jose Berrios are we going to get today? Are we going to get the win that allowed one run in seven innings in his last start, or the one that allowed six runs in five innings two starts before that. That latter start was against this same Orioles team, so we are going to go with that being the more likely option. Give us the Orioles. Pick: Baltimore

Win

New York Mets at Athletics:

Like the Brewers yesterday, as the time of writing the Athletics had the dreaded “undecided” as their starting pitcher. In an offense friendly park with a good opponent, that is an easy pick for the Mets. Very easy. Pick: New York Mets (Lock)

Loss (Lock record 7-10)

Atlanta at Tampa Bay:

We thought AJ Smith-Shawver was going to be the next Atlanta Braves stud young pitcher. He still might be, but so far he hasn’t proven much. Granted neither has the rest of the Atlanta Braves. Drew Rasmussen has been pitching well for the Rays, so this is a slam dunk pick for us. Pick: Tampa Bay

Loss

Washington at Miami:

Sandy Alcantara has been pitching well this year, but the Marlins are being very careful with him for good reason. He is still building up his arm after not throwing at all last year, so he is on a tight pitch count. We don’t think that will matter here as the Marlins will get the win. Pick: Miami

Win

Boston at Chicago White Sox:

The White Sox finally won yesterday, ending their eight game losing streak. Will they win two in a row? No, they will not. Pick: Boston

Loss

Kansas City at Cleveland:

Yesterday we picked the Royals because of Kris Bubic is good. Today we are going to pick the Royals because Luis Ortiz is bad. Cleveland will struggle to score runs but they will give up quite a few, so we are going to Kansas City again today. Pick Kansas City

Loss

Pittsburgh at Cincinnati:

Like the Athletics, the Reds are also undecided who is pitching at the time of writing. The difference is we don’t like the Pirates offense as much as the Mets, plus the fact that Andrew Heaney is throwing for the Pirates. Even though Heaney is pitching well so far this year, it is only a matter of time before he comes back to Earth. Why not today? Pick: Cincinnati

Win

Los Angeles Angels at Houston:

Today we are picking with the Astros, only because we can’t in good conscious pick the Angels two days in a row. Tyler Anderson is pitching for the Angels, and he remains us of Andrew Heaney, which we talk about below. We don’t like Anderson, so we are going with the Astros. Pick: Houston

Loss

Milwaukee at Arizona:

Corbin Burnes is pitching for the Diamondbacks in this one, facing off against Chad Patrick and the Brewers. Burnes has not looked good this year, but has a great track record, and it’s only a matter of time before he gets it going again. This is another easy pick for us. Pick: Arizona

Win

Colorado at San Diego:

We are going with our hearts, not our heads with this pick. We think Chase Dollander is going to be a stud for the Rockies and that is why we are going against conventional wisdom and picking Colorado. We probably shouldn’t, but we are going to anyways. Pick: Colorado

Loss

Chicago Cubs at Los Angeles Dodgers:

The Cubs have to pick the Dodgers sometime right? Why not today. With no real reason, we are going to pick the Cubs. Pick: Chicago Cubs

Win

Texas at Seattle:

Bryan Woo has been good for Seattle this year. Kumar Rocker has not been good for Texas. We can’t give an edge to either offense, so we are going with the pitching matchup. That is a big advantage for the Mariners. Pick: Seattle

Win

Happy picking everyone!
