We went 22-22 over the weekend series and now we got some new ones. Last week was rough but a new week starts now with ten games. Here we go!

Washington at Pittsburgh:

It’s Paul Skenes day! Skenes hasn’t looked as sharp as he was last year, but he still is striking out over a hitter an inning and he hasn’t allowed a home run. He has a dominant stretch in him and it will start today. Pick: Pittsburgh

Win

San Francisco at Philadelphia:

The Giants are still hanging around in a tough National League West. Their starting pitching has been outstanding, and they have provided enough offense to jump out to an 11-4 record. The Phillies are coming off a series loss to the Cardinals and will be looking to bounce back by…. Sending Taijuan Walker to the mound? Yikes. Pick: San Francisco

Win

Boston at Tampa Bay:

Two teams that expected to compete in the American League East find themselves a game under .500 and in desperate need of a series win. Tampa Bay is 7-8 despite playing 12 of their first 15 games at home. They need to bank wins as the season goes on and they go on a myriad of long road trips. They start doing so today. Pick: Tampa Bay

Win

Kansas City at New York Yankees:

Seth Lugo has only given up one home run this season, but now faces the Yankees and their torpedo bats at Yankees Stadium. We think it will be a long afternoon for Lugo and the Royals as the ball will fly far and often for the Bronx Bombers. Pick: New York Yankees

Win

Atlanta at Toronto:

If you would have guessed that a team in the National League would have the second worst record in the senior circuit, the choices would have been either the Marlins or the Nationals. Definitely not the Braves, who are 4-11 and are hoping to get their offense going. Unfortunately, they are going against a Blue Jays team that proves themselves on pitching. Pick: Toronto

Loss

Detroit at Milwaukee:

Tarik Skubal looked like the 2024 version of himself in his last start, going six shutout innings against the Yankees. He has a much easier matchup today, so we are riding with the Tigers. Pick: Detroit

Win

New York Mets at Minnesota:

Joe Ryan might finally be breaking out this season, and we are happy to see it. The guy has been on the cusp of stardom for awhile, and if his first three starts are any indication, he is in line for a huge season. The Twins have not been the best team to watch this year, but Ryan makes it palatable. Pick: Minnesota

Loss

Houston at St. Louis:

These two teams have identical 7-8 records, but are doing so in different ways. The Astros are pitching well but not hitting, while the Cardinals are hitting well but not pitching. One of these will have to give today but which one? Honestly we have no idea, but we are going to go with the Astros because they have Framber Valdez pitching. Pick: Houston

Loss

Chicago Cubs at San Diego:

The Padres are 10-0 at home this season. We are going to pick them to win home games until they lose. It start today against the Cubs. Pick: San Diego

Win

Colorado at Los Angeles Dodgers:

We aren’t overthinking this. This is our lock of the day. We have struggled with our locks so far this season but it turns around today. Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers (Lock)

Win (Lock Record 8-11)

Happy picking everyone!
