We went 9-6 yesterday to bring our weekly record to 30-12. I would say that is pretty good! Light day with only five games, so let’s get cracking!

Boston at Baltimore:

Boston finally ended their four game losing streak yesterday, beating the Orioles 3-0 and evening up the series. Tanner Houck takes the ball in the rubber game against Charlie Morton and the Orioles. The fact that Morton is still this good at 41 is mind boggling to us. We like the Morton and the Orioles to get the win in this one. Pick: Baltimore

Loss

Colorado at Philadelphia:

Taijuan Walker makes his first start of the season for the Phillies as they try and get the sweep of Colorado. Walker was not good in 2024, with an ERA over 7. We think that will continue and the Rockies will not get swept today. Pick: Colorado

Loss

Houston at Minnesota:

We expect a low scoring game as both Joe Ryan and Hunter Brown pitched well in their opening start of the season. The difference for us is that the Astros have not score more than three runs in a game this season. For a team that has always been known for hitting that is shocking to us. We think that will continue and the Twins will get the win. Pick: Minnesota

Loss

Arizona at New York Yankees:

After sweeping Milwaukee to open the season, the Yankees are now on the verge of getting swept at the hands of the Diamondbacks. New York is throwing Carlos Carrasco in hoping that doesn’t happen. Carrasco hasn’t been good the last two years and we think that will continue as Arizona gets the sweep. Pick: Arizona

Loss

Cincinnati at Milwaukee:

We have to have a lock of the day and we only have five games to choose from. Nester Cortes was a dumpster fire in his first start, and while we don’t think he will give up home runs on his first three pitches like he did against the Yankees, we think that the Reds will score often enough to get the win. Lock it in. Pick: Cincinnati (Lock)

Loss (Lock Record 4-4)

Happy picking everyone!
