Happy Friday everyone! A good day of baseball is ahead of us. We might have some postponements like we have had through out the week, but we have 13 games to pick. We have been over .500 every day this week. Let’s see if we can continue that run.

April 5th Picks:

Toronto at New York Yankees: The Yankees get to the Bronx after a 6-1 road start to the season, looking to continue the momentum against a Blue Jays team that is scuffling a bit. Give us the Yankees to win their home opener today. Pick: New York Yankees

Oakland at Detroit: Detroit is throwing their ace against the lowly Athletics. Easy pick here. Pick: Detroit

Los Angeles Dodgers at Chicago Cubs: The Dodgers and Cubs are both off to good starts this year, and this could be a postseason series in about six months. The Dodgers are playing their first true road game of the year, and we think they will get the job done. Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers

Tampa Bay at Colorado: The Rockies are playing at home for the first time this season. The ball flies out of Coors Field and the Rockies have a bad pitching staff. That is not a good combination. Give us the Rays to win easily here. Pick: Tampa Bay

Baltimore at Pittsburgh: The Pirates beat up on the Marlins and Nationals the last week, but now face a good team for the first time this season. Baltimore has no holes, and will get the win today. Pick: Baltimore

San Diego at San Francisco: Dylan Cease is starting to get comfortable in San Diego. That poses problems for the Giants. We like Jordan Hicks and think he will do good things for San Francisco this year, but give us the Padres in a close one. Pick: San Diego

New York Mets at Cincinnati: Hunter Greene is throwing for the Reds today, and he has a tendency to give up home runs. We think that will be a big factor in today’s game, as the Mets go deep at least twice off of Greene and get the win. Pick: New York Mets

Philadelphia at Washington: Aaron Nola against Patrick Corbin? Four years ago this would have been a good pitching matchup. Now its one good pitcher against one not so good pitcher. When this is the case we go with the good pitcher. Give us the Phillies here. Pick: Philadelphia

Arizona at Atlanta: Spencer Strider has not gotten off to the start he was hoping for, but he is still one of the best pitchers in the league. Strider handcuffs the Diamondbacks today with double digit strikeouts, and the Braves get the win. Pick: Atlanta

Chicago White Sox at Kansas City: All of the numbers are telling us to go with the Royals here. Brady Singer pitched well in his last start, and the White Sox are bad. We are going to go with our gut, not the numbers, and say that Chicago steals one here. Pick: Chicago White Sox

Houston at Texas: Last year the Astros owned the Rangers. While this is not last year, we think that Houston is much better than their record, and we still don’t trust the pitching staff for Texas. Give us the Astros today. Pick: Houston

Seattle at Milwaukee: Another Mariners game and another good pitching matchup. That will be the theme the whole season for Seattle. While the pitching matchup is even, Milwaukee has a better offense than Seattle. It will be a low scoring game, but give us the Brewers. Pick: Milwaukee

Boston at Los Angeles Angels: Boston’s pitching staff has been one of the biggest surprises of the year so far. Granted, they have played two teams with not very good offenses, but we think it will continue today and the Red Sox continue to win games on the west coast. Pick: Boston

Happy picking everyone!
