February 11, 2021 Picks:
College Basketball:
#24 Purdue at Minnesota (-3) - This is a battle between two teams jockeying for position in the middle of the Big Ten standings, as the Boilermakers and Golden Gophers both try to get to the upper half of the conference. Minnesota is a good home team, so we are gong to go with the Golden Gophers to cover the three point spread. Pick: Minnesota 77 Purdue 71
#20 USC at Washington (-11.5) - Washington is bad. Like really bad. They are 3-14 this season and have no semblance of a plan from game to game. Now they face a USC team that has ripped off four straight wins. This game will get ugly, as the Trojans will dominate the Huskies in Seattle. Pick: USC 83 Washington 66
NBA:
Miami (-2) at Houston - With Christian Wood set to miss another game, the Rockets will once again turn to DeMarcus Cousins. He has not been good in Wood’s absence, and now has to face off against Bam Adebayo. This is an easy pick for us. Give us the Heat. Pick: Miami 113 Houston 105
Toronto at Boston (-3) - Boston returns home after a five game road trip and faces the Raptors coming off a win last night against the Wizards. This is the second matchup for these two teams this season, with the Celtics winning the first one 126-114. We don’t think it will be a 12 point Celtics victory like last time, but we do think it will be more than a three point win. Pick: Boston 117 Toronto 110
Indiana (-2.5) at Detroit - The Pacers have lost four games in a row and now head to Detroit to face a Pistons team that is only 6-18 on the season. The Pistons have been playing better basketball lately, culminating with a big win over the Nets in their last game. We like the Pistons in this one. Pick: Detroit 108 Indiana 103
Orlando at Golden State (-8) - Orlando is still missing the majority of its team, and now faces a rested Warriors team. Stephen Curry will have at least 35 points in this one as the Warriors will roll over the Magic. Pick: Golden State 124 Orlando 109
Philadelphia (-5.5) at Portland - These two teams played a week ago and the Blazers beat the 76ers 121-105 despite missing Damian Lillard. Lillard is back, but we don’t see that happening again. We like Joel Embiid to have a huge game as the 76ers avenge their last loss. Pick: Philadelphia 124 Portland 116
Happy picking everyone!
