February 15, 2021 Picks:
College Basketball:
#9 Virginia at #17 Florida State (-1.5) - The only game involving ranked teams takes us Tallahassee, where the Seminoles and Cavaliers are set to square off. This will go a long way into figuring out who will win the ACC. It is pretty much down to these two teams. Florida State hasn’t lost a home conference game in two years. That changes today. Pick: Virginia 68 Florida State 64
NBA:
Chicago at Indiana (-5.5) - This is the second matchup this season between the Bulls and Pacers. The first one was the first game of the season, which was won by Indiana. The Pacers have won two games in a row and are starting to get hot again. We like Indiana to cover the spread and get their third win in a row. Pick: Indiana 115 Chicago 107
Houston (-1.5) at Washington - This is the second matchup this season between the Rockets and Wizards. John Wall led Houston with 24 points against his former team in their last matchup, which resulted in a 107-88 Rockets win. The Rockets have lost five games in a row, but the Wizards are playing the second game of a back to back. Give us the Rockets here. Pick: Houston 113 Washington 106
Atlanta (-2) at New York - Anyone who comes to this website knows how much we like the way the Knicks play defense. They don’t score much, but their defense keeps them in a lot of games. That won’t be any different today, as they hand the Hawks their fourth consecutive loss. Pick: New York 106 Atlanta 100
Philadelphia at Utah (-7.5) - We know the Jazz are playing well, but this line seems too high. Joel Embiid is on the injury report, but we expect him to play. It is always fun when Gobert and Embiid go head to head. The best defensive center in the NBA against the best offensive center in the NBA. Give us the Jazz to win, but the 76ers to cover. Pick: Utah 124 Philadelphia 119
Cleveland at Golden State (-9) - Cleveland has dropped seven straight games after a promising start, and now face Stephen Curry and the Warriors. This is a far cry from a few years ago, when the Warriors and Cavaliers were meeting in the NBA Finals every year. We think the Warriors will win, but it will be by single digits. Pick: Golden State 118 Cleveland 111
Miami at Los Angeles Clippers (-3) - Paul George is set to miss another game and Kawhi Leonard doesn’t usually play both games of a back to back, so the Clippers could be missing their two stars. This happened the last time these two teams faced off as well, but the Heat didn’t have Jimmy Butler in that game either. With Butler back, give us Miami to get the win. Pick: Miami 113 Los Angeles Clippers 108
Brooklyn (-4) at Sacramento - This game features two of the worst defenses in the NBA. Expect a lot of points in this. Expect a lot more for the Nets, even with Kevin Durant missing this game. Pick: Brooklyn 128 Sacramento 117
Happy picking everyone!
