What we got right:

College Basketball:

#3 Michigan at #4 Ohio State - The big game of the day brought us to the Big Ten and it did not disappoint. Neither team had more than a nine point lead throughout, and this was as close and clean of a game as you will see. Both teams shot over 50% from the field and had less than turnovers. The difference was Michigan got to the free throw line 11 more times than Ohio State. That was the reason why the Wolverines got the 92-87 win.

#21 Wisconsin at Northwestern - Wisconsin handed Northwestern its 13th loss in a row, as the Badgers defeated the Wildcats 68-51. Northwestern plays Nebraska the final game of the season. That will be their best chance for a win.

NBA:

Detroit at Orlando - Nikola Vucevic had 37 points, Evan Fournier added 29, and the Magic beat the Pistons in Orlando. Jerami Grant scored 24 points in the loss for the Pistons, who shot just 11-40 from three point land. This was an ugly game that had over 100 missed shots combined and the two teams went a combined 20-70 from deep. That is why these are two of the worst teams in the conference.

Minnesota at New York - The line was three. The Knicks won by four. Usually games like this haven’t been going our way, but we got the win here. The Knicks had a 16 point lead going into the fourth quarter and almost blew it, but Julius Randle made key plays down the stretch to get the win. After the game the Timberwolves fired their head coach. Things are not going well in the Twin Cities right now.

Denver at Atlanta - We almost nailed the score exactly. We predicted a 121-115 Atlanta win, and the Hawks ended up winning 123-115. So close! We were also right in that Trae Young had a huge game. The third year guard had 35 points and 15 assists to lead Atlanta to the home win.

Milwaukee at Sacramento - The Kings are so terrible. Their defense is a train wreck, and the Bucks took full advantage. Milwaukee won 128-115 behind 38 points from Giannis and 32 from Khris Middleton. We actually undersold the Bucks by two points, as we thought they would only get to 126. Shame on us.

What we got wrong:

College Basketball:

Cincinnati at #6 Houston -Houston took out its frustration on Cincinnati, using a 27-5 run late in the first half to blow this game open. The Cougars ended up winning this game 90-52, holding the Bearcats to 30% shooting and forcing 13 turnovers. That is what we wanted to see from Houston after losing to Wichita State, and they did not disappoint.

Penn State at #11 Iowa - Iowa was down by five points at halftime in this game, but outscored Penn State 38-27 in the second half to get the 74-68 win. The Hawkeyes next two games are against Michigan and Ohio State, so they needed this win to gain some confidence. Those two games should be fun.

NBA:

Boston at New Orleans - Ugh. Boston had a 24 point lead in this game, let it slip away, and lost it in overtime. Brandon Ingram scored 33 points, including hitting the go ahead three pointer with 33 seconds left in overtime to steal the win away from the Celtics. Jayson Tatum scored 32 points in the 120-115 loss for Boston, but they should be embarrassed they let such a big lead slip away.

Oklahoma City at Cleveland - That is now ten straight losses for the Cavaliers. Oklahoma City won 117-101 behind 31 points and nine assists from Shai Gigeous-Alexander. We thought this might be the time for the Cavaliers to get back in the win column, but the Thunder had other ideas.

Philadelphia at Toronto - That is now four straight wins for Toronto, who climb over .500 for the first time this season after a 110-103 win over Philadelphia. Pascal Siakam and Fred VanVleet both scored 23 points for the Raptors in the win, while the defense did their job against Joel Embiid. The 76ers all-star center had 25 points, but went just 6-20 from the field.

Brooklyn at Los Angeles Clippers - Brooklyn earned the season sweep over the Clippers with a 112-108 win, with James Harden scoring 37 points to seal the deal. Paul George scored 34 for the Clippers and Kawhi Leonard added 29, but no one else on the team scored more than 13 as the Nets won their sixth in a row.
