February 22, 2021 Picks:

College Basketball:

#15 Texas Tech (-3.5) at Oklahoma State - The Red Raiders have dropped two games in a row, both to ranked teams, and now head to Stillwater to face an Oklahoma State team that has won its last two games. The first matchup between these two teams was an overtime win for the Cowboys, so Texas Tech is looking for some revenge. We think they get it here. Pick: Texas Tech 78 Oklahoma State 72

Oregon at #17 USC (-4) - USC is coming off its first loss in over a month, and now faces an Oregon team that has won five straight games. These are probably the two best teams in the conference, so this should be a good game. In the end, we like the Trojans to pull away and cover the four point spread. Pick: USC 76 Oregon 70

NBA:

Chicago (-1) at Houston - Both Christian Wood and Victor Oladipo are out for the Rockets once again. We are hoping they get back this week, as Houston is an entertaining team when both players are on the floor. Since they are out in this game, and Zach LaVine is playing like an all-star, give us the Bulls to win. Pick: Chicago 118 Houston 109

Memphis at Dallas (-5) - Dallas has been playing better the last few weeks, but still needs to improve if they want to make the playoffs in the loaded Western Conference. Games like this would be a good start. Memphis is one place above them in the standings, so this is a big game for both teams. Give us Dallas to get the win and cover the spread. Pick: Dallas 119 Memphis 111

Miami (-6.5) at Oklahoma City - Miami has its full compliment of players and has won two games in a row, while the Thunder are playing the second night of back to back games. The Heat are like the Mavericks, in that they need to start winning games if they want to get back to where they were last year. Fortunately for Miami, the East is more wide open than the West. Give us the Heat to cover this one. Pick: Miami 113 Oklahoma City 102

Portland at Phoenix (-6) - It seems to us like the Suns never play a road game. They are at home once again, playing host to the Blazers. Both of these teams are 8-2 in their last ten games, and are fighting for a top four seed in the playoffs. With the way Damian Lillard is playing right now, he won’t let the Blazers lose two in a row. Give us Portland to win. Pick: Portland 114 Phoenix 109

Charlotte at Utah (-12.5) - Utah is trying for its 14th straight win at home as they host the Hornets tonight. Utah lost its last game after reeling off nine in a row, and look to start a new streak against a Hornets team that has alternated wins and losses its last five games. We think the Jazz will get the win, but it will be by single digits. Pick: Utah 117 Charlotte 109

Washington at Los Angeles Lakers (-7) - The Wizards have won four games in a row and now head to Los Angeles to play a Lakers team that is missing Anthony Davis. Part of us wants to pick the Wizards in an upset, but we think the Lakers have what it takes to get the win. Washington will cover the seven points however. Pick: Los Angeles Lakers 115 Washington 110

Happy picking everyone!
