What we got right:

NBA:

Milwaukee at Cleveland - Milwaukee didn’t quite to 130 points for the third consecutive game, but they did enough to cover the spread in the 123-105 win over the Cavaliers. Giannis had 33 points and 12 rebounds to lead six Bucks players in double figures. Colin Sexton led the way with 19 points for Cleveland, but was only 7-17 from the field.

Washington at Miami - These are the Wizards we have gotten used to. The Heat were scoring at will and the Wizards couldn’t hit water if they fell out of a boat in the 122-95 loss. Bradley Beal missed his first 13 shots and ended with a season low seven points. That is what we like to see from the Heat, who improve to 8-14 this season.

Detroit at Phoenix - A game against the Pistons is just what the doctor ordered for a Suns team looking to find its stride. Phoenix won this game 109-92 behind a lethal shooting night from Devin Booker. Booker went 8-14 from the field on the way to 23 points, and Chris Paul added 20 points and 9 assists in the win.

Boston at Los Angeles Clippers - Paul George and Jaylen Brown not playing took some of the luster off this matchup, but Jayson Tatum was the best player on the floor in leading the Celtics to the 119-115 victory. Tatum dropped 34 points in the win, while Kemba Walker added 24 points to help the Celtics beat the Clippers in Los Angeles.

What we got wrong:

NBA:

New Orleans at Indiana - The Pelicans won their second game in a row behind 30 points from Brandon Ingram who led the charge in the 114-113 victory over the Pacers. Indiana was down by 11 going into the fourth quarter, but made it interesting late behind some great shooting from Justin Holiday. At the end of the day the Pacers feel just short.

Chicago at Orlando - Nikola Vucevic dropped a career high 43 points and added 19 rebounds in the 123-119 win for the Magic. The Magic snapped a four game losing streak behind Vucevic, and now these teams run it back again tonight.

Toronto at Brooklyn - Kevin Durant played in the first half and scored eight points, but in the third quarter he was forced out of the game due to Covid safety protocols, and that was all the Raptors needed to secure the 123-117 win. Pascal Siakam added a season high 33 points in leading the charge for Toronto.

Utah at Charlotte - We gave the Hornets too much credit in this one, thinking they would cover the eight point spread, but in the end it was the Jazz who continued to play beautiful basketball. The Jazz won this game 138-121 behind 26 three point baskets, and continue to have the best record in the NBA.

Minnesota at Oklahoma City - D’Angelo Russell made a three pointer with 3 seconds lift to lead the Timberwolves to a 106-103 victory over the Thunder on Friday. Neither one of these teams is very good, but this was an entertaining game none the less. The Timberwolves and Thunder play again tonight, in what will probably be another close game.
