What we got right:

College Basketball:

South Carolina at #19 Missouri - Missouri shot 58% from the field and held South Carolina to 38% shooting in their 81-70 win. The Gamecocks couldn’t get anything going, and with how few games they have played this year that isn’t surprising. Missouri’s next game is a ranked matchup against a Tennessee team that we are going to talk about a little later.

Penn State at #22 Illinois - The Fighting Illini kept the Nittany Lions winless in conference play with a 79-65 win on Tuesday. Penn State shot 38% from the field and had only eight assists in this one, and that won’t get many wins in the Big Ten. Illinois played a solid all around game to get back in the win column after two straight losses.

Seton Hall at #3 Villanova - Villanova got the win, but they didn’t cover the spread in their 76-74 win over Seton Hall. The Wildcats showed little rust in this game, as the Pirates just played a solid all around game. Seton Hall had a chance to win the game late but couldn’t handle a full court pass and Villanova held on for the win.

#18 Alabama at LSU - Ladies and Gentlemen Alabama is for real. They put up 60 points in the first half against an LSU team that was allowing 73 points a game all season. Alabama made 23 three pointers and never looked back after taking a 40-18 lead early in this one. Alabama is an exciting team to watch and college basketball fans should be paying attention to Nate Oats’ team.

NBA:

New Orleans at Utah - The Jazz won even more comfortably than we predicted. Utah beat New Orleans 118-102, winning their sixth straight game. Six players scored in double figure for Utah, and six players made multiple three pointers for the Jazz. Utah looks to keep their winning streak alive with a rematch against the Pelicans on Thursday.

What we got wrong:

College Basketball:

Purdue at #15 Ohio State - Ohio State had a six point lead at halftime and we thought this game would go our way. Purdue came out in the second half and outscored Ohio State by eight points and won the game 67-65. That is four straight victories for the Boilermakers, who making their presence known in the Big Ten.

#6 Tennessee at Florida - We did not see this game coming. We thought one of these teams was going to win comfortably, but we didn’t think it would be the Gators. Florida held Tennessee to 29% shooting and forced 18 turnovers, in dominating the Volunteers 75-49.

Maryland at #7 Michigan - This was a good response for a Michigan team coming off its first loss of the season. The Wolverines offense got humming again after coming out flat against Minnesota over the weekend. When this team is clicking, no one can stop them. Seeing their offense against Baylor’s defense would be an outstanding game.

NBA:

Oklahoma City at Denver - Apparently ten points wasn’t too much for the Nuggets to be getting, as they easily handled the Thunder 119-101. Oklahoma City still has a offensive crisis, as they don’t have that one go to guy when they need a bucket. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander can get there, but he isn’t there yet. Until he does make that leap, the Thunder will continue to struggle.
