March 1, 2021 Picks:

College Basketball:

Miami at #15 Virginia (-14.5) - Welcome to March! Miami has lost six conference games in a row, and now heads to Charlottesville to face a Virginia team that will be angry after losing its last three games. Virginia still hasn’t scored more than 65 points in almost a month, so we think this line is too high. Virginia will win, but not by 15. Pick: Virginia 67 Miami 56

#7 Oklahoma (-1.5) at Oklahoma State - We are making this pick before the rankings came out today. We are guessing that Oklahoma State will have a number next to its name after the rankings are announced. These two teams played a 94-90 overtime classic on Saturday, so what will they do for an encore? We don’t know, but we do know we are picking the Sooners to rebound and get the win. Pick: Oklahoma 82 Oklahoma State 78

NBA:

Dallas (-6.5) at Orlando - Orlando has lost three straight games, and Dallas is playing really good basketball right now. The Mavericks won the first matchup this season between the two teams back in January, and they will get the season sweep today. We like Dallas to cover the spread. Pick: Dallas 118 Orlando 108

Indiana at Philadelphia (-4.5) - Philadelphia and Indiana square off for the second time this season, with the 76ers earning a nine point win the first time these two teams met. We got an all-star matchup here between Domantas Sabonis of the Pacers and Joel Embiid of the 76ers. We like Philadelphia to hand Indiana its fourth consecutive loss and cover the spread. Pick: Philadelphia 116 Indiana 109

Denver (-5) at Chicago - The Bulls and Nuggets are squaring off for the first time this season, and it is a matchup between two of the most talented offensive players in the NBA. We think Zach LaVine and Nikola Jokic will cancel each other out offensively, so it will between the rest of the team to find a way to win. Denver has better supporting players than Chicago, which is why we are going with the Nuggets. Pick: Denver 119 Chicago 111

Utah (-7) at New Orleans - These two teams are trending in opposite directions. On one side you have Utah, who has the best record in the NBA. on the other side you have New Orleans, who is just 3-7 in its last ten games. Utah has been beating teams every way possible, and we think today will be no different. Pick: Utah 117 New Orleans 106

Brooklyn (-5) at San Antonio - Kevin Durant is still out for the Nets, and with Kyrie Irving you won’t know until a half hour before tip-off if he is playing or not. Brooklyn has been one of the hottest teams in basketball, going 8-2 in their last ten games. We don’t know why, but we are feeling that the Spurs will pull off the upset today. Give us San Antonio. Pick: San Antonio 114 Brooklyn 107

Cleveland at Houston (-2.5) - We know Cleveland is bad. But should they really be an underdog to a team that has lost eleven in a row and is playing the second night of back to back games? We say they shouldn’t be. Cleveland has won three games in a row, and they will make it four after today. Pick: Cleveland 116 Houston 103

Charlotte at Portland (-6) - Charlotte is coming off a buzzer beater win over the Sacramento Kings, and now has to face a Blazers team that has had an extra day of rest. Portland has dropped four straight games. Damian Lillard will not let it become five. Pick: Portland 124 Charlotte 112

Happy picking everyone!
