9 games today after going 7-7 on opening day. We missed our lock of the day but we got another one today! If you want to see what we got right and what we got wrong go back to the March 27th picks and take a look!

Colorado at Tampa Bay:

Colorado might be the worst team in baseball this year. They have no starting pitching, and their hitters are very young. At least they have a beautiful stadium. Tampa Bay will overachieve like they always do. This is an easy win for the Rays. Pick: Tampa Bay

Win

Baltimore at Toronto:

Kevin Gausman vs Charlie Morton. This should be a good pitching matchup but we give the edge to the Orioles. The starting pitching is a wash but we like Baltimore’s hitters and bullpen better. Give us the Orioles win. Pick: Baltimore

Loss

Pittsburgh at Miami:

Miami’s second best pitcher is Connor Gilllispie. We don’t even know who that is. He has only made three appearances in his career and now he is in the number two spot for the Marlins. This team is going to be a disaster. Even though we don’t think the Pirates are going to be very good this year but we like this matchup for them. Pick: Pittsburgh

Win

Boston at Texas:

Jack Leiter made his first opening day roster and gets the ball in game 2 against Tanner Houck and the Red Sox. The former number two overall pick is going to be a very good pitcher, and it will start in this one as the Rangers get the win. Houck is also going to be a good pitcher but we think Leiter will get the better of him here. Pick: Texas

Win

New York Mets at Houston:

As of typing this the Astros haven’t announced who their game two starter is. The fact that the rotation isn’t set at the beginning of the season is quite concerning. The Mets are countering with Tyler Megill, who was on the precipice of superstardom a couple years ago before he got hurt. We are going to go with the known commodity over the unknown and roll with the Mets. In fact we are going to lock it in. Pick: New York Mets - Lock

Win (Lock Record 1-1)

Atlanta at San Diego:

Reynaldo Lopez had a breakout year for the Braves, after some middling years with the White Sox. He was an all star last year and was in the Cy Young conversation after the first few months of the season. He usually gets off to a good start, and we see no reason why that will change this year. Give us the Braves. Pick: Atlanta

Loss

Chicago Cubs at Arizona:

We like both of these teams to make the playoffs this year, so this is an early season test. We went with the Diamondbacks yesterday and we think these teams are very close, so for that reason we are going to ride with the Chicago. Pick: Chicago Cubs

Loss

Athletics at Seattle:

The Athletics have new starter Jeffrey Springs going in game two, while Seattle will counter with Luis Castillo. Castillo has been a rock for the Mariners the last couple years, although he has lost some velocity on his fastball. He still knows how to pitch well and will do enough to get the win for Seattle in a low scoring game. Pick: Seattle

Loss

Detroit at Los Angeles Dodgers:

Another team that hasn’t announced who is starting, the Tigers are probably going to go with former #1 overall pick Casey Mize to get the ball here. Mize is going to have a big year for the Tigers, and we can’t pick the Dodgers every day, so we are going to go with the Tigers to get the win here. Pick: Detroit

Loss

Happy picking everyone!
