It has been a rough week for us so far at Sports Predictions with regards to the NBA. Good thing today is a new day! We have four games in basketball and one game in the NFL to pick today. Let’s get to it!

NBA:

Dallas (-4.5) at Washington:

The lone road favorite of the day takes to the nations capitol, where the Mavericks and Wizards are set to square off. Dallas lost to the lowly Orlando Magic yesterday, while the Wizards haven’t played since Monday. The reason why we are still going to go with Dallas is because of the absence of Bradley Beal. he is the engine that makes the Wizards work, and without him they will fall today. Philadelphia at Atlanta (-1):

Joel Embiid is back for Philadelphia, who also has not played since Monday. The Hawks lost to the Jazz last night. Unlike our first game, we are going with the more rested team in this one. Pick: Philadelphia 117 Atlanta 109

Charlotte at Miami (-10.5):

The Heat are favored by so much because they haven’t played since Monday, while the Hornets lost to the Blazers by ten last night. This is a big line, but one we think the Heat can cover. We like Miami to win big here. Pick: Miami 118 Charlotte 103

Portland at New Orleans (-9):

The final game of the day takes us to New Orleans, where Damian Lillard is sitting because it’s the second game of a back to back. He played 36 minutes last night and scored 26 points. It is good to see him back. Even without Lillard, we don’t see this being a double digit game. Give us Portland to cover. Pick: New Orleans 113 Portland 108

NFL:

Atlanta (-2.5) at Carolina:

These two teams played just eleven days ago and it was a 37-34 Falcons win in overtime. We don't think this one will be that close. The Panthers are a mess at quarterback and have traded away all of their position players that have value. We like the Falcons by double digits here. Pick: Atlanta 31 Carolina 17
