Tuesday is usually the slow day of the week and today is no exception. We have five NBA games and two college basketball games to pick. Let’s get right to it!
NCAA Basketball:
#4 Kentucky (-7) vs Michigan State:
Michigan State is not ranked but gave Gonzaga all they could handle last week. Kentucky has not been tested this year. We like the Wildcats to win, but it will be a close game. Sparty will cover. Pick: Kentucky 75 Michigan State 71
#7 Duke (-1.5) vs #6 Kansas:
The first big test for either team the first big game Kansas coach Bill Self will be missing. That will be a huge factor in this game and we think the Blu Devils will take advantage. This will be a close game throughout, but we like Duke to cover the spread. Pick: Duke 72 Kansas 66
NBA:
Memphis at New Orleans (-3.5):
This line is surprising to us. Even though Desmond Bane is out for the Grizzlies, they still have Ja Morant. We expect Morant to have a huge game here and Memphis not only covers, but wins outright. Pick: Memphis 113 New Orleans 107
Los Angeles Clippers at Dallas (-6.5):
Kawhi Leonard is still out for the Clippers and now John Wall is on the injury list. No one other than Leonard could slow down Luka Doncic. We like the Mavericks to cover in this one. Pick: Dallas 117 Los Angeles Clippers 108
New York at Utah (-4.5):
Utah is still undefeated at home. New York is just 2-4 away from Madison Square Garden. Even though the Jazz are coming off two straight losses, we still like them to cover here. Pick: Utah 108 New York 97
Brooklyn at Sacramento (-1.5):
Brooklyn has been playing well since Steve Nash got fired. Sacramento has won three games in a row to get back to .500. We like the way the Kings are playing and we think they get it done here tonight. Pick: Sacramento 111 Brooklyn 104
San Antonio at Portland (-8):
Raise your hand if you thought the Trail Blazers would be an eight point favorite at all this season. We definitely didn’t, but here we are. Not only is Portland a big favorite, but we think they will cover here and win by double digits. Pick: Portland 118 San Antonio 105
Happy picking everyone!
