We have gotten off to a good start in the NBA so far this month as we try to get back to .500. We have 11 games today, so a great spot to do it!
NBA:
Washington at Philadelphia (-6.5):
These two teams played on Monday in Washington and it was a seven point win for the 76ers. Philadelphia won that game despite not having Joel Embiid. Embiid is day to day, so there is a chance he plays today. All the signs point to a Philadelphia cover. We like the signs in this one. Pick: Philadelphia 121 Washington 113
Boston (-2) at Cleveland:
Cleveland has now won five games in a row, and one of them was a road overtime win in Boston. The Celtics righted the ship on Sunday after losing their first two games of the season. We like the way Cleveland is playing right now and are going to ride the hot hand to get the win. Pick: Cleveland 118 Boston 111
Sacramento at Miami (-6):
The Sacramento Kings have two wins this year. One of them is a home win against these Miami Heat. Miami will be looking for revenge, and we think they will get it today. Pick: Miami 115 Sacramento 102
Atlanta at New York (-2):
Trae Young loves playing at Madison Square Garden. He really enjoys being the bad guy, and nowhere is he more vilified than New York. Trae Yound will have a huge game and the Hawks will beat the Knicks in a close one. Pick: Atlanta 117 New York 112
Charlotte at Chicago (-5):
The Bulls played yesterday and won a hard fought game against the Nets. We think they will be tired heading into this one and the Hornets will take full advantage. Give us Charlotte to win outright. Pick: Charlotte 111 Chicago 103
Los Angeles Clippers (-6) at Houston:
Houston has only won one game this season, but the Clippers are going to be playing without kawhi Leonard. We think Paul George will lead them to the victory, but not to the cover. Pick: Los Angeles Clippers 112 Houston 109
Detroit at Milwaukee (-11):
These two teams played on Monday in Milwaukee and it was a two point win. We think the win for the Bucks tonight will be by more than two, but still by single digits. Give us the Pistons to cover. Pick: Milwaukee 124 Detroit 117
Toronto (-6.5) at San Antonio:
The Spurs are a surprising 5-2, and they have won their games with defense so far. Toronto’s defense is always solid, so this will be a slugfest. We like the Raptors to cover, but in a low scoring game. Pick: Toronto 103 San Antonio 94
Utah at Dallas (-5.5):
At what point do you have to take the Jazz seriously? They are 6-2 so far this season, and are doing it with a balanced effort. The Mavericks are doing it with Luka, and not much else. He is in the top 20 in the NBA for points, rebounds, and assists. That is insane. We like the mavericks to cover here Pick: Dallas 122 Utah 109
Memphis (-4.5) at Portland:
Portland is still without Damian Lillard, and that is a big reason why we think the Grizzlies are going to cover the spread. Memphis is too solid of a team and they will get it figured out. Pick: Memphis 119 Portland 107
New Orleans (-3) at Los Angeles Lakers:
The Lakers finally got their first win of the season. They will not get a second one today! Pick: New Orleans 127 Los Angeles Lakers 111
Happy picking everyone!
