We have a full slate of NFL games and a few NBA games. We are looking to stay over .500 for the NBA week so we need to have a solid day today. Let’s get to it!

NBA:

Cleveland (-4) at Los Angeles Lakers:

The Cavaliers are still undefeated since opening day, and now they are facing a Lakers team that is still looking to find their way. Los Angeles had won two games in a row, but then lost by 14 to the Utah Jazz. This Lakers teams is still a mess, so we are going to with the Cavaliers to cover the spread. Pick: Cleveland 126 Los Angles Lakers 113

Chicago at Toronto (-2):

This game may come down to who is playing. Zach LaVine might be out for the Bulls, and Fred Van Vleet is out for the Raptors. On paper, these two teams are very close, so we are going to go with the home Raptors to cover, but barely. Pick: Toronto 114 Chicago 110

Washington at Memphis (-9.5):

Bradley Beal is missing this game for the Wizards, who have to face a tough Memphis team without their best player. We like the Grizzlies to win this game by double digits. Pick: Memphis 127 Washington 115

Utah at Los Angeles Clippers (-3.5):

These are two teams we just can’t figure out. Utah just keeps winning games, and the Clippers can’t get out of their own way. We think the other shoe will drop for Utah at some point, but we don’t think it will be against a Clippers team without Kawhi Leonard. Give us the Jazz to win outright. Pick: Utah 116 Los Angeles Clippers 109

NFL:

Los Angeles Chargers (-2.5) at Atlanta:

Will the real Los Angeles Chargers team please show up? We have no idea what team we are going to get from week to week, and it makes it very hard to pick their games. Meanwhile, all Atlanta is doing is leading the NFC South. Even though this game is in Atlanta, give us the Chargers to cover. Pick: Los Angeles 30 Atlanta 20

Miami (-4) at Chicago:

Chicago got waxed by the Dallas Cowboys in their last game, and now faces a hot Miami team that has won two in a row. The strength for the Dolphins is their pass offense. The weakness for the Bears is their pass offense. We expect a big game from Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, and the Dolphins to cover the spread. Pick: Miami 34 Chicago 17

Carolina at Cincinnati (-7):

If you asked us last week, we would have said the Bengals would cover this spread no problem. Then they played the Browns on Monday night, and looked discombobulated. they miss Ja’Marr Chase more than we thought, and for that reason we think the Panthers are going to cover. Not win, but cover. Pick: Cincinnati 24 Carolina 20

Green Bay (-4) at Detroit:

This has to be the get right game for the Packers. Aaron Rodgers has owned the Lions his while career, and the Packers need a win. The Lions play hard for Dan Campbell, but are not as talented as the Packers. Give us Green Bay in a blowout. Pick: Green Bay 38 Detroit 17

Indianapolis at New England (-5):

The Colts are missing Jonathan Taylor. He was their only offense, especially with Matt Ryan benched. That move is still puzzling to us, but we think the Patriots will take full advantage and win this game comfortably. Pick: New England 27 Indianapolis 13

Buffalo (-10.5) at New York Jets:

This line started out at 13 points. A lot of money was placed on the Jets to cover that the line moved almost a full field goal. The Bills are missing almost their whole secondary, but Zach Wilson does not strike fear into anyone. Give us the Bills to cover. Pick: Buffalo 34 New York Jets 20

Minnesota (-3) at Washington:

Minnesota is 6-1, and now faces a Commanders team that still has Taylor Heinicke at quarterback. The Vikings have won five games in a row, and are only a three point favorite in Washington. We think Kirk Cousins will have a big game in his homecoming, and Minnesota will cover the spread. Pick: Minnesota 31 Washington 20

Las Vegas (-2.5) at Jacksonville:

This is a tough game. The Raiders were a team we thought could make some noise in the AFC, but they are 2-5 this season and 0-4 on the road. Jacksonville looked good after week three, but has lost five games in a row since. We still like the talent on the Raiders, so we expect them to get the win here. Pick: Las Vegas 24 Jacksonville 20

Seattle at Arizona (-1.5):

These two teams played a few weeks ago in Seattle and it was a comfortable Seahawks win. Now they face off in Arizona and the Cardinals are favored? These are two teams heading in opposite directions, and we are picking the Seahawks to sweep the two games against the Cardinals this season. Pick: Seattle 24 Arizona 20

Los Angeles Rams at Tampa Bay (-3):

This is a matchup between teams that are underachieving. Both teams were expected to be Super Bowl contenders, and both teams are currently under .500. We don’t know who to pick here, and obviously Vegas felt the same way by giving the Buccaneers the three points for being the home team. We are basically flipping a coin here, but we are going with the underdog Rams. Pick: Los Angeles 27 Tampa Bay 24

Tennessee at Kansas City (-12.5):

Ryan Tannehill is questionable to play with an ankle injury, and if he can’t go the onus falls on rookie Malik Willis. That is a tall task for a rookie to go into Arrowhead Stadium and face Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. We are going to go with the home team to win big. Pick: Kansas City 28 Tennessee 10

Happy picking everyone!
