Busy day in the NBA today with every team in action. That is right we have 15 NBA games today, plus a Monday night football affair. Let’s get to the picks!
NBA:
Washington at Charlotte (-1.5):
Bradley Beal is still injured and that is why this line is the way it is. Charlotte has lost four games in a row and Washington has lost four out of five. Both of these teams are bad. We are going to with the Wizards to get the win today. Pick: Washington 106 Charlotte 100
Houston at Orlando (-5):
Another bad matchup, this is probably the worst two teams in the league. Houston has lost six in a row and is 1-9, while Orlando is 2-8. One of the Magic wins is against Golden State at home. That is a good win. We are going to take the Magic to cover. Pick: Orlando 114 Houston 107
Oklahoma City (-1.5) at Detroit:
The Thunder are playing well, having won three out of their last five games. Their two losses are against Denver and Milwaukee, so solid teams. Now they get a Detroit team that has lost three games in a row. The Thunder are playing better right now, so we are going to go with them to get the win. Pick: Oklahoma City 107 Detroit 98
New Orleans (-5) at Indiana:
New Orleans should have both Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson in this game. they have alternated wins and losses their last five, and lost their loss. We see that trend to continue and for the Pelicans to not only win, but cover. Pick: New Orleans 119 Indiana 108
Phoenix (-2) at Philadelphia:
Phoenix just keeps winning games, with their only blemish in the last five a buzzer beater loss to the Blazers. The 76ers have lost two straight and don’t have James Harden or Joel Embiid. Why this line is only two points makes no sense to us. Give us the Suns to win big. Pick: Phoenix 126 Philadelphia 104
Milwaukee (-3) at Atlanta:
We said a few days ago that we will pick Milwaukee until they lose. It hasn’t happened yet. So give us the Bucks. Pick: Milwaukee 123 Atlanta 111
Toronto at Chicago (-4):
These two teams played yesterday and it was a nine point win for the Raptors. This line has flipped for two reasons. First it is a home game for the Bulls, and second, Pascal Siakam is injured and is going to miss quite a bit of time. The second point is why this line flipped so much, and also why we are going to pick the Bulls. Pick: Chicago 112 Toronto 104
Portland at Miami (-5):
Damian Lillard is still out for the Blazers, but they are treading water without him. They are 6-3 and still one of the big surprises in the NBA this year. Anfernee Simons is questionable to play, and Vegas must think he isn’t going to suit up. That is the only reason why the line is this high. Give us Miami to win, but Portland to cover. Pick: Miami 106 Portland 103
Boston (-3.5) at Memphis:
If we had to pick right now, this could be the matchup in the NBA Finals. Both of these teams are deep and talented. Memphis hasn’t lost a game at home yet, so that is why we are picking them to win. We will definitely be tuned into this one though. Pick: Memphis 112 Boston 106
New York at Minnesota (-2.5):
The Knicks have lost four out of their five games since a 3-1 start, and the biggest reason why is their offense hasn’t been very good. Minnesota prides itself on good defense, so this will be a slugfest. We give the edge to the Timberwolves to get the win. Pick: Minnesota 104 New York 97
Denver (-7) at San Antonio:
The Spurs are starting to come back to earth after a hot start, having lost their last three games. It doesn’t get any easier with the Denver Nuggets coming to the Alamo. These two teams played two nights ago in Denver, and the Nuggets walked away with a 25 point win. We don’t think it will be by that much today, but it will be by more than eight. Pick: Denver 121 San Antonio 109
Brooklyn at Dallas (-6):
The Nets have won their last two games, which so happen to coincide with the Kyrie Irving suspension. Now they are facing a Mavericks team that is coming off of three straight wins. This line is tough for us, but we are going to have to go with the Nets to cover, but the Mavericks to win. Pick: Dallas 115 Brooklyn 112
Sacramento at Golden State (-8):
Golden State is 0-6 away from the friendly confines of Oracle Arena. Fortunately for them, this game is being played in the Bay. They are 3-7, but we think they start to turn it around today. Give us the Warriors by double digits. Pick: Golden State 128 Sacramento 116
Los Angeles Lakers at Utah (-7):
These two teams played on Friday and the Jazz won by 14 in Los Angeles. Now Utah is at home and they are only getting seven points, with LeBron James missing this one. Give us the Jazz by double digits. Pick: Utah 125 Los Angeles Lakers 108
Cleveland (-4.5) at Los Angeles Clippers:
Cleveland just won’t lose. They have now won eight games in a row. They have entered Milwaukee territory for us. We are picking them until they falter. Pick: Cleveland 117 Los Angeles Clippers 104
NFL:
Baltimore (-1.5) at New Orleans:
Andy Dalton is starting for the Saints. We don’t trust him in normal games, but somehow he is even worse under the bright lights. Meanwhile, the bright lights is where Lamar Jackson shines. Give us the Raves to win comfortably. Pick: Baltimore 31 New Orleans 20
Happy picking everyone!
