We have our final NFL game of week 7 and some NBA action today. The first week of basketball was not kind to us, but we have a lot of games left. Let’s get to the picking!

NBA:

Indiana at Philadelphia (-12):

Philadelphia hasn’t won a game this season, and now they are a double digit favorite over the Pacers? That seems wild. We like the 76ers to get their first win of the season, but it will be by single digits. Pick: Philadelphia 123 Indiana 116

Toronto at Miami (-3.5):

These two teams played two days ago in Miami and the Heat won by three. Now they are 3.5 point favorites. Both teams were playing back to back games last time, and have had a day of rest. We think the day of rest will help Toronto more than Miami, so give us the Raptors to get the win. Pick: Toronto 114 Miami 109

Orlando at New York (-7.5):

We have been very wrong about the Knicks in both of their games this season. We have been confident that this team isn’t as good as it is. That is a mistake on our end. We are going to flip the script and pick the Knicks to cover here. Pick: New York 119 Orlando 105

Boston (-6) at Chicago:

Boston has looked like the best team in the NBA so far this year. We thought they would have some drama about their coaching situation, but this tam is so deep and talented that it doesn’t matter who is coaching them. We are going to ride the Celtics until they lose a game. Pick: Boston 127 Chicago 117

Brooklyn at Memphis (-1):

Which Nets team are we going to get? That always makes for a fun day when we have to pick against them. We could see them winning this game by 20 or losing this game by 20. Right now we are going to with the Grizzlies to get the win, because the game is at home. Pick: Memphis 115 Brooklyn 108

Utah (-2) at Houston:

The biggest surprise so far this season has to be the Utah Jazz. They traded away four of their starters and everyone thought they were going to tank this year. They have gone out and beaten two playoff teams from a year ago, and now they face off against a Rockets team that is 0-3. We know this game is in Houston, but give us the Jazz. Pick: Utah 126 Houston 118

San Antonio at Minnesota (-8.5):

San Antonio pulled off a shocker on Saturday, beating the 76ers by nine points in Philadelphia. The Spurs are playing better than anyone anticipated, and now they head to Minnesota to play a Timberwolves team that is solid, but not spectacular. Give us Minnesota to win, but San Antonio to cover. Pick: Minnesota 122 San Antonio 117

Denver (-5) at Portland:

If Utah is the biggest surprise in the NBA so far, Portland isn’t far behind at number two. They have also started the year 3-0, and have done it with Damian Lillard averaging 34 points a game. We think the streak will stop here, and Denver will not only win, but cover the five points. Pick: Denver 128 Portland 116

NFL:

Chicago at New England (-8):

Why the Bears are on primetime is anybody’s guess. This team isn’t good. The Patriots have been looking solid the last couple weeks, and now gets Mac Jones back. Bailey Zappe played well in his absence, but this is Jones’ team. We like the Patriots to run the ball, not mistakes, and dominate this game from start to finish. Pick: New England 31 Chicago 13

Happy picking everyone!
