No comments today. Just picks.

NBA:

Orlando at Cleveland (-8.5):

Orlando hasn’t won a game this season, but they have been competitive in three of their four games. Cleveland has won two in a row, and Donovan Mitchell is a big reason why. Mitchell is averaging over 33 points per game so far this season. We like the Cavaliers to keep the Magic winless, but not to cover the spread. Pick: Cleveland 117 Orlando 111

Atlanta (-7) at Detroit:

Detroit played yesterday. Atlanta did not. We usually like the more rested team, and that is the case here as well. Give us the Hawks to cover. Pick: Atlanta 131 Detroit 118

Charlotte at New York (-7.5):

The Knicks have looked good so far this season, with their only blemish being an overtime loss to Memphis. They haven’t really played anyone good, but then they aren’t playing anyone good today. Give us the Knicks to cover at Madison Square Garden. Pick: New York 124 Charlotte 109

Philadelphia (-1) at Toronto:

The 76ers finally got their first win of the season in their last game, against a lowly Indiana team. Now they are playing a talented tough Raptors team, and we like Toronto to get the win at home. Pick: Toronto 116 Philadelphia 107

Brooklyn at Milwaukee (-3.5):

For some reason this just seems like a game that Brooklyn will be ready for. We don’t know which Brooklyn team will show up from day to day, but give us the good Brooklyn team today. We like them not only to cover, but win outright. Pick: Brooklyn 126 Milwaukee 122

Indiana at Chicago (-7.5):

Tyrese Haliburton has been everything as advertised for the Pacers this year, averaging 24 points and 10 assists so far in this young season. Him and Benedict Mathurin have been the only bright spot for an Indiana team that can score with most teams, but can’t stop anyone. Chicago has been a tough team to gauge this season, but we like them to cover at home. Pick: Chicago 123 Indiana 110

San Antonio at Minnesota (-9):

San Antonio is playing much better than anyone anticipated, and that includes a 115-106 win over these same Timberwolves on Monday. That game was also in Minnesota. We think that the Wolves will come out more motivated than the last game and will avenge their loss, but it will be by single digits. Pick: Minnesota 112 San Antonio 105

Houston at Utah (-7):

This is another rematch from a game played on Monday, and once again the team that lost is favored. We are going with the same idea as above, where the Jazz will avenge the loss, but won’t cover. Pick: Utah 114 Houston 109

Los Angeles Lakers at Denver (-5.5):

The Lakers are a mess right now. The Russell Westbrook plan has not worked, and they are terrible shooters. LeBron James is still doing his thing, but he will be 38 in a couple months time. He can’t do this forever can he? Anyways, if this was any other team but the Lakers the line would be double digits. That is what we are going with. Pick: Denver 131 Los Angeles Lakers 116

Miami (-2.5) at Portland:

Portland is still undefeated, and that is confusing us as much as the national pundits. They have beaten good teams too, in Denver and Phoenix. Now they face another tough squad in Miami. Miami has had four tough games to start the season, and the probably thought this was going to be a gimme of a win. While it won’t be, we are still picking the Heat to cover. Pick: Miami 119 Portland 110

Happy picking everybody!
