We have a handful of NBA games and one NFL game today. New week for us to get right. Here we go!

NBA:

Sacramento (-3) at Charlotte:

The Hornets are 3-3 and the Kings are 1-4, and Sacramento is a three point favorite on the road? Yes the Kings won their last game after four losses to start the season, but we are going to go with the Hornets to not only cover, but win outright. Pick: Charlotte 113 Sacramento 107

Philadelphia (-4) at Washington:

James Harden is averaging 21.6 points per game, which would be his lowest output since 2012 with Oklahoma City. He is helping in other ways, with 9 assists and 7 rebounds, but he needs to score for Philadelphia to win. We think he will do that today and the 76ers will cover. Pick: Philadelphia 117 Washington 109

Indiana at Brooklyn (-7.5):

We don’t care who they are playing, the Brooklyn Nets should not be favored by this much over anyone. This team is in total disarray, and Kevin Durant can only carry them so far. It has been an absolute train wreck in Brooklyn, and it won’t get any better today. Pick: Indiana 125 Brooklyn 120

Atlanta at Toronto (-3):

These are two teams that just quietly go about their business and win basketball games. No drama or controversy like Brooklyn or Philadelphia, just guys that love to play the game. We are going to give the edge to the Raptors in terms of experience, but this should be a close game throughout. Pick: Toronto 114 Atlanta 108

Detroit at Milwaukee (-13):

The Bucks are undefeated this season, and other than a two point win in the opener, all of their other wins have been by at least eight points. The Pistons finally got their first win of the season yesterday. Now playing Milwaukee in game two of a back to back? Ouch. Pick: Milwaukee 132 Detroit 110

Memphis (-2) at Utah:

Utah has not lost a game at home. That will change tonight against the Grizzlies. The other shoe has to fall sometime for the Jazz, and we think it will start here. Pick: Memphis 119 Utah 106

Houston at Los Angeles Clippers (-9.5):

The Clippers are basically the Nets of the Western Conference, in that they are exceptionally talented, but can’t get out of their own way. Los Angeles has lost four games in a row. They will win this one today against Houston, but it will be by single digits. Give us the rockets to cover. Pick: Los Angeles Clippers 109 Houston 102

NFL:

Cincinnati (-3) at Cleveland:

Yes, the Bengals are playing without Ja’Marr Chase. Even without Chase, Cincinnati is still deep at receiver. They have Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd, two very solid receivers. Plus they have Joe Mixon and Joe Burrow in the backfield. We like the Bengals to stay hot and keep the Browns floundering. Pick: Cincinnati 31 Cleveland 20

Happy picking everyone!
