Hard to believe but the NFL season is finally upon us. It feels like it has been years since the Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl, but the new season is here. We will be picking every game this season. Our goal is to have over a 60% winning percentage against the spread. Why don’t you join us on our journey. It starts today!
NFL Picks:
Thursday:
Baltimore at Kansas City (-3):
The opener of the 2024 season kicks off with a doozy in the AFC Championship game rematch. That game was a defensive struggle won by the Chiefs. We think that more points will be scored tonight but the outcome will be the same. Give us Kansas City to win and cover the three point spread. Pick: Kansas City 27 Baltimore 20
Friday:
Green Bay vs Philadelphia (-2.5) in Sao Paulo Brazil: Jordan Love got paid like a franchise quarterback over the offseason. Now it is time to prove it. Green Bay is lucky this game is not in Philadelphia, and we think not having the home field advantage will hurt the Eagles. Give us the Packers to win in a mild upset. Pick: Green Bay 24 Philadelphia 23
Sunday:
Pittsburgh at Atlanta (-3): Both of these teams are starting new quarterbacks this year, with Kirk Cousins for the Falcons and Russell Wilson for the Steelers respectively. Pittsburgh’s defense is really good, but the offense they roll out is horrendous. The under will hit in a lot of Steelers’ games, including this one. We like Atlanta to cover the three points in a low scoring affair. Pick: Atlanta 17 Pittsburgh 13
Arizona at Buffalo (-6.5): Buffalo lost a lot of skill position players over the off season, and we don’t like who they replaced them with. Who is the number one receiving option for the Bills? Keon Coleman, a rookie? The well traveled Curtis Samuel? Tight End Dawson Knox? Meanwhile, the Cardinals have Marvin Harrison Jr. and a healthy Kyler Murray (For now). Despite all that Josh Allen still is on the Bills. Give us Buffalo to win, but not cover in this one. Buffalo 20 Arizona 17
Tennessee at Chicago (-4): The Caleb Williams era starts at home against the Tennessee Titans. Honestly the bears couldn’t have asked for a better week one opponent. The Titans are a mess right now with no weapons on offense and Will Levis trying to throw the ball all over the field. As long as Williams takes care of the ball, Chicago will win comfortably. We think that will happen. Pick: Chicago 27 Tennessee 17
New England at Cincinnati (-8): The New England Patriots are probably the worst team in the NFL this season. The Cincinnati Bengals have struggled mightily in openers the last two seasons. Something has to give here. Eight points is a lot for week one and the Patriots have a decent defense, but we don’t see how they are going to score points. Give us the Bengals to cover. Pick: Cincinnati 24 New England 10
Houston (-3) at Indianapolis: In the last ten years, the Indianapolis Colts are 0-9-1 in week one games. That stat is insane! Houston is a trendy Super Bowl pick, and the reason why is all the upgrades on offense. Between Joe Mixon, Stefon Diggs, and year 2 of CJ Stroud this team will be fun to watch all year long. We like Houston to cover here. Pick: Houston 30 Indianapolis 17
Jacksonville at Miami (-3.5): Both of these teams are hopeful to be in the playoffs this season. This game could actually go a long way in tie breaker scenarios. We are jumping on a lot of favorites to cover this week, and we are keeping with that theme in this one. We expect Tua and the Dolphins to score a lot of points. Pick: Miami 34 Jacksonville 24
Carolina at New Orleans (-4): This is a favorite we are not getting behind. Both of these teams a re a mess right now and the home team is getting four points? We will take the points and call it a day. Pick: Carolina 17 New Orleans 16
Minnesota (-1.5) at New York Giants: How bad are the Giants that Sam Darnold is giving points in a road game? Daniel Jones is a travesty and this will be his last opening day start for the Giants. Another favorite we are taking as Minnesota gets the win here. Pick: Minnesota 20 New York Giants 13
Las Vegas at Los Angeles Chargers (-3): Never doubt Gardner Minshew in his first start of the season. I don’t know if that is actually true but we are going with it! Even though this game is in Los Angeles it will feel like a home game for the Raiders. Give us Minshew and Vegas to spoil Jim Harbaugh’s Chargers debut. Pick: Las Vegas 20 Los Angeles Chargers 17
Denver at Seattle (-6): A rookie quarterback playing his first game in Seattle with that crowd? The Seahawks will have Bo Nix running for his life. Denver won’t be very good this year and Seattle should be in a fight for the playoffs. We like the Seahawks to win comfortably in Coach Mike McDonald’s debut. Pick: Seattle 27 Denver 13
Dallas at Cleveland (-2.5): What an offseason for the Cowboys. Their three big stars all wanted to get paid, and only Cee Dee Lamb got his extension. That leaves Dak Prescott and Micah Parsons wanting more. I think the only person more excited for the season to start than the fans is Jerry Jones, because that means that he doesn’t have to focus on contracts. The offseason will be a distraction for the Cowboys and they will lose this game by more than a field goal. Pick: Cleveland 23 Dallas 16
Washington at Tampa Bay (-3): Washington and rookie quarterback Jaydon Daniels travel to Tampa Bay to face off against Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I will tell you now that we won’t be watching one second of this game. Tampa Bay is a three point favorite at home, because even Vegas doesn’t care about this game. We have to pick someone though so give us the Commanders. Pick: Tampa Bay 21 Washington 20
Los Angeles Rams at Detroit (-3.5): Its Matthew Stafford against Jared Goff! The two quarterbacks that got traded for each other a few years ago square off in what the Lions hope is a banner season. Detroit is not use to dealing with high expectations and while we think they will be a good team this year, we are taking the Rams to get the win. Pick: Los Angeles Rams 31 Detroit 27
Monday:
New York Jets at San Francisco (-4): Is Aaron Rodgers going to play more than four snaps this season? Our money is on yes. With that being said, the Jets are still the Jets and this line shouldn’t be this close. We know that a Super Bowl hangover is real but the 49ers are too good. San Francisco by at least a touchdown. Pick: San Francisco 27 New York Jets 17
Happy picking everybody!
